Solar Contract Review

A useful solar contract review connects the paper to what happened: how the system was sold, who owns it, how it was financed, whether it was completed, how it performs and how it affects the property. It is more than searching for one cancellation sentence.

What the review should cover

Identify every party and document; the agreement type and term; payment schedule and escalators; equipment ownership; cancellation and dispute provisions; performance, service and roof duties; transfer, payoff and end-of-term provisions; and any security-interest or filing language.

What to submit

Provide complete readable copies rather than selected pages. Include proposals, financing disclosures, amendments, e-sign records, bills, production, service history, sales communications and a dated summary. Redact Social Security numbers, full bank or card numbers and unrelated sensitive data.
