Different agreements. Different paths. Start with a clear review of your options.
A solar agreement can involve an installer, equipment owner, lender, servicer and utility. The strongest next step starts by identifying which agreement you have and what the documents actually require—not by assuming every contract has the same exit.
Educational and administrative assistance. Results vary; cancellation is not guaranteed.
The right support starts with your agreement.
Two ways to organize your next steps
Choose the support that fits you.
Both programs help you organize contract-related questions. The difference is who manages the administrative work.
YOU LEAD THE PROCESS
DIY Guided Exit Program

Automatically populated correspondence drafts
One workspace for your licensed solar agreement
24 months of portal access from activation
12 months of technical/navigation support from activation
You review, print, sign and send letters, retain delivery records, track responses and manage follow-up. Approval and enrollment are required before activation. Technical support covers platform use, not legal advice or case management.
Personalized review, case coordination and correspondence assistance within your agreed service scope.
Personalized contract intake and review
Dedicated case coordination
Assisted document and correspondence preparation
Organized follow-up and progress monitoring
Continued communication within the service agreement
You provide records, approve correspondence, sign your own documents and make your own decisions. Sending and follow-up tasks depend on the signed agreement and authorization. Attorney representation is not included.
A cash purchase, installment loan, lease and power purchase agreement (PPA) create different obligations. A loan usually finances equipment you own. In a lease, another company generally owns the system and you pay for its use. Under a PPA, you generally pay for energy the system produces. Confirm the named parties, term, payment formula, transfer language, warranties and dispute process.
Possible paths depend on timing and facts
Depending on the contract and circumstances, a homeowner may need to examine a timely cancellation right, a negotiated resolution, payoff or buyout, transfer, performance or warranty claim, formal complaint process, or advice from an independent licensed professional. None is automatic. Deadlines and available remedies vary by state, transaction and contract.
Documents that make a review useful
Gather every signed agreement and amendment, financing disclosures, proposal, payment history, utility bills, production records, permit and interconnection records, sales messages, recordings you lawfully possess, service tickets, photographs and any closing deadline. Keep originals and build a dated timeline.
Avoid decisions that create new problems
Do not stop payments, remove equipment, sign a settlement or ignore a collection or court notice based only on general online information. Those choices can have contract, credit, property or legal consequences. Get qualified advice when a deadline or legal right is involved.
Find the documents and questions relevant to your agreement. This organizer does not determine a legal right, deadline, eligibility or likelihood of cancellation. Your selections stay in this page; no contact details or document upload are required.
Start with every signed agreement, the notice instructions, account statements and a dated project history. Compare each company’s written answer separately.
Can I get out of a solar contract after installation?
Sometimes options remain after installation, but they are usually different from a pre-installation cancellation. The agreement, transaction, performance, communications, applicable law and requested resolution all matter.
What is the first document to find?
Start with the complete signed agreement and all attachments. If financing is separate, find that agreement too.
Is a loan handled the same way as a lease or PPA?
No. Ownership, payment terms, transfer rights and end-of-term choices can differ significantly.
Does a review guarantee an exit?
No. A review helps organize facts and possible next steps; it does not guarantee cancellation or any result.
